While planning out the Twining Fates fic, I realized I actually need to pick a point in the timeline, so that's left me with an interesting dilemma

Ortho's featured, so for reasons relating to that it needs to be post book 6, so I've got two options

Between book 6 and book 7

Post book 7

Pros of between 6/7

I know all the story up to that point in DETAIL

Cons of between 6/7

Nothing major, just might miss out on interesting bits I could write

Pros of being post 7

Very handily gets Malleus' magic Out Of The Way

Accidentally made Aster parallel Malleus and I think it'd make for some very nice moments

Signature-spell-related shenaniganery that I can't talk about at this time

Cons of being post 7

........I play on EN and I'm trying not to spoil myself more than I already have

If it is post-7 I might just avoid the details and handwave anything I get wrong

Thank you TWST fandom now I can actually properly work on outlining. This project ended up being much bigger than I intended oops. I just have to decide when Things Take Place. It's either going to be between books 6 and 7 or post-7 and I can't choose which

Hello TWST fandom I am enlisting your aid

I need to separate the following characters into duos for the sake of a project (temporary roommates). Which ones would you duo up and why

Ace

Ortho

Vil

Kalim

Jack

Leona

Jade

Floyd

Can range from "I think they'd make a good pair in an emergency" to "It's actually feasible they'd be willing to share a dorm room for a few days" to "I just think it'd be funny"

I love writing fanfic because sometimes the characters just do what they want without my input. I certainly didn't intend for Lilia and Jade to be scheming together, and yet here they are. This is certainly not a nightmare duo that will cause problems on purpose, not at all

WHO DID THIS TO YOU?

WHO DID THIS TO YOU?

First Years/Prefect Romantic Poly (Deuce Centric)

===================

The Prefect knew that their lovers were going to raise hell when they finally got back from club.

Grim was going to raise hell.

There was going to be a lot of hell raising going on and the Prefect didn’t really know what to do about it or really if they should.

It wasn’t like they liked pain. They were a normal, everyday kind of person that tried their best to avoid it. And they weren’t so altruistic that they wanted to start a fight with their lovers to protect the assholes that had hit them.

But well
their lovers could take it a bit far.

Sevens, any of their friends would take it far and it was a miracle that they managed to get back to Ramshackle without anyone else seeing them in this state.

The last time someone had laid a hand on them – and they had tried to fight back, really! But the Octavinelle student was like, twice their size! Bigger than Floyd even! – Sebek had nearly killed the guy and it was only Malleus pulling strings and Lillia making points of Crowley not protecting his students to get their half-fae off with just a month of detention and no criminal record.

Unfortunately they weren’t exactly in a state capable of hiding what had been done and they wouldn’t lie to their lovers like that anyway.

They just wished they could break it to them a little easier and with forewarning. Trying to message them, though, or call would cause the same kind of panic either way, though, so there was nothing they could do but wait.

The Prefect was just starting to work themself up into a fit of anxiety when they heard the front door open.

“Anata?” Deuce’s voice called from the entrance as they heard him shuffling around to toe off his shoes and set his track bag down near the closet to take back with him to Heartslabyul later.

“Aa, welcome back Deuce.” They managed, standing from the sofa and shifting nervously, glad that at least they had had time to change out of the bloody clothes.

“Practice ended a little early. Jack is on his way he just had to-
” Deuce froze when he stepped into the lounge and caught sight of them, the water bottle in his hand clattering to the floor.

The Prefect winced slightly at the horror and anguish that was quickly giving way to guilt in their lover’s sea blue eyes, hating that even more than anything else.

“I’m alright, it’s just
” but they let their words trail off as the other took numb steps to meet them before ever so gently reaching his hands to cup their face.

He touched them like they were made of glass as his eyes traveled over the already darkening black eye and the split lip that had only just minutes ago stopped bleeding. There were other bruises and scrapes – one on their jaw and another on their cheek bone on the same side as the black eye – but those were the worst.

“Who did this to you?” he whispered, his brow furrowed and broken in a way that the Prefect hated hearing.

Hated the guilt laced liberally throughout and how they always seemed to be a cause of pain for their lovers simply because they weren’t able to protect themselves against the students that saw them as an insult and weak target.

They were a weak target.

They were weak and magicless and didn’t even belong in that world.

It wasn’t surprising that they were a target.

But they wished they were able to at least protect themselves enough to not cause the people they cared about to hurt as if they felt every hit on their own body instead.

Words caught in their throat and they swallowed thickly, trying to push back the tears. They hadn’t cried when they had been thrown to the ground or when they had to cover their head to protect from the vicious kicks. Tears would have only made it worse and they didn’t want to give that kind of satisfaction to the assholes.

Deuce watched them struggling, watched them try to blink away the tears unsuccessfully and how their split lip trembled as they tried to find their voice through the pain and helplessness they clearly still felt.

His expression hardened, eyes narrowing and teeth gritting as a snarl pulled on his lips.

His voice was just as soft as moments before but now it was shaky in a barely contained rage that they could feel through his trembling fingers still oh so gently cupping their face.

“Who did this to you?”

They told him.

Deuce’s eyes flashed and he leaned forward to press the softest of kisses against their forehead, a silent promise.

“Jack will be home in a minute. Lock the door behind me.” He said before turning and storming out, hands already clenched into fists and prepared to return every bruise on their Prefect with ten of his own.

The Prefect watched him go, didn’t try to stop him as they knew it was pointless. Instead they closed the door like Deuce said and locked it before pulling out their phone and texting Ace and Sebek. They would be the closest ones to be able to find Deuce the fastest and hopefully prevent the worst as their lover was planning on taking on a fight of three on his own.

Hopefully Ace and Sebek would be able to get there before Deuce killed anyone.

Hi guys, hope you liked it. I was inspired by THIS and had to write this up real fast. It's not beta'd or anything so please ignore any mistakes ^_^'. Tell me what you think. <3

This is a sneak peek for a fic I'm writing lol

Plot: It's just Mulan (1998) but with some story and character changes. Yuu/MC is Mulan and so on and so on. I haven't fully figured out who would be Shang in this but I know it's between Silver and Sebek as Malleus is the Emperor in this fic. Anyway, enough of my ramblings...

The guard notices the ink dripping down the walls, ink so dark you could see your reflection in it. If you are a fool, you wouldn’t think twice about it.

“Help” he yells alerting the others standing watch.

“We’re under attack!” Suddenly a rush of ink came crashing down and tried to drown the watchmen. In their dying breaths, they lit fires alerting the land that they were now here.

"Burnt Waffles" -Malleus Draconia

"FOR SEVENS SAKE-"

Well that wasn't something you wanted to hear at 3 in the am. Especially not when it was a weekend and all you wanted to do was sleep in for once. But alas, it seems trouble has a knack for finding you at any hour of the day, no matter how atrocious that hour may be.

Slipping out of bed you trudged down the stairs to the kitchen, where the unclaimed angry shout had made its debut. Was it a good idea to walk towards unknown voices in the middle of the night, no. However this was far from the oddest thing to happen to you, and 9 times out of 10 whatever happened was the result of a ghost.

What you didn't expect however was to find a familiar mop of black hair by the kitchen counter, adorned with an even more familiar set of horns. What was even more unexpected (and much more concerning) was the cloud of smoke that was slowly filling the room.

"Malleus, wha-"

"I don't know what you want from me but release my pastry from your iron constraints this instant you infernal thing!"

You had to hold back a fit of laughter, watching the fae on your kitchen continue to hurl insults at the machine in front of him. Malleus Draconia, the prince of briar valley and one of the top mages of the world, had been thwarted by your waffle maker.

"Malleus, what are you doing." You giggled, alerting him of your presence behind him.

"Oh, good morning child of man." Malleus said, turning his head away from the torched waffle to look at you. "I would have thought you would sleep in more this morning."

"Well I might have, however the verbal assault on the waffle maker were to hard to ignore." Malleus's ears flushed a bright red, joining the embarrassed flush on his cheeks.

"Nothing it doesn't deserve I assure you." He said indignantly, crossing his arms to emphasize his point, "No matter what I do to it, it refuses to cooperate with me!"

You strode over to stand next to him, sidestepping the mysterious ingredient spills on the tiled floor.

"You have to turn it first before you try opening it." Demonstrating, you gripped the handle and effortlessly opened the maker, cringing slightly at the intense burnt smell that hit your nose.

"Oh, I see." He said quietly, watching you pry the black brick out and throw it into the garbage.

"You want to try making another one, now that you know how to use this properly?" You asked, looking up at him with a small smile on your face.

The fae let out a hum, feeling a smile of his own tug at his lips.

"I would enjoy that very much."

You were later told the reason he had been in your kitchen so early was because he wanted to surprise you with breakfast, and had actually been there much earlier just trying to get a batter together (He had been nearly defeated earlier by trying to crack the eggs into the bowl without sending it into the wall.)

As much as you valued your sleep, there was little you would trade for the time you spent making waffles together with Malleus that morning, watching the sunlight stream through the windows as you shared the plate of waffles in the lobby and leaving the mess in the kitchen for a later time.

Sometimes, you just need to be held

Sometimes, You Just Need To Be Held

Summery: After a rough day, all you wanted to do was hide away in the dorm and forget about it all. However, your lovely significant other decided to try and cheer you up.

Character: Deuce Spade

Word Count: 896

Genre: Comfort (slight angst to fluff)

Fandom: Twisted Wonderland

Warnings: none

A/N: This was originally a gift for one of my friends because they were feeling down and I wanted to cheer them up. They loved it and have allowed me to share it with all of you as well. I hope you find some comfort from this fic if your not having the best day 💛💙

-----------------------------

Everything that could have gone wrong that day, went wrong. The potion in Crewels class had blown up because some cat-looking direbeast decided that it needed more silverfish scales which resulted in a lengthy makeup process. The homework was forgotten in a locker, which resulted in an awkward explanation to Trein as to where it was. He did let you go back and get it much to some relief, but Lucius seemed to judge you for the entire class period. You had gotten smacked by a badly thrown magicshift disc which resulted in a nurse trip, missed lunch because of said accident, and had nearly been ragdolled around by a very excited Floyd who decided he wanted to mess with you at that very minute. Your savior at that moment had been Jade who dragged his protesting twin back to the lounge to finish his shift.

The unbirthday party hadn't gone much better. The pastries for the unbirthday party had been overcooked cause Ace wasn't watching the timer and Trey had to step in, a can of red paint had been accidently dropped on your head while in uniform by a clumsy second year student, and to top it off the hedgehogs had somehow gotten free from their enclosure and you were forced to fetch them or risk Riddle slapping a coller on you. Needless to say you didn't enjoy that days unbirthday party even after the chaos had calmed down, and not once during that day had you gotten any glimpse of Deuce, the one person you wanted to see the most.

Walking through the doorway of Ramshackle, you let out a sigh, and allowed the tears that you'd been holding back the whole day to fall. So much chaos and so many problems to solve in such a small amount of time, you were completely drained both physically and mentally. Slipping your shoes off and placing them in the dorms shoeracks, you made your way up the creaking stairs to your room so you could remove the paint stained uniform to wash it, as well as take a shower to remove the remaining paint from your hair. Cater had been nice enough to try and get as much paint out as possible, but there wasn't much he could do.

One shower later, you changed into clean casual clothing and walked back downstairs to throw the dirtied uniform into the washing machine. The second you did so there was a knock at the door. Some part of you didn't want to answer it. The day has been rough enough, and whoever was at the door probably wanted something from you. You'd bet ten thaumarks that it was Crowley on your doorstep with another threat 'gracious offer' that you couldn't refuse. Regardless you went up to the door, took a deep breath to reel in any patience and sanity you had left in you, and opened the door.

Your eyes widened when you saw a very familiar blue-haired freshman standing in front of the door, still in his uniform and complete with a sheepish expression and his hands behind his back.

"Hi, I um
I heard from Grim that you had a bit of a rough day, so I brought you these." He pulled his hands out from behind his back, presenting you with your favorite pastry and your favorite drink. "I found one of the pastries left over from the unbirthday party and figured you might want it."

It took a solid few seconds of shock before you snapped back to what he was saying to you.

"Oh! Sorry, uh, yeah it's been an
interesting day to say the least. You can come in if you want." Deuce nodded before slipping past you into the dorm, kicking off his shoes in the doorway before heading further in. You stood there staring in front of you for a minute, feeling a smile cross your face. He had remembered your favorite things, and he brought them in an attempt to cheer you up.

Shutting the door behind you, you followed his footsteps into the dorm, coming into the lounge to see him set the items on the coffee table in front of the couch. He turned to face you when you stepped in, offering a much more affectionate smile.

"I don't know if this will make you feel any better per say, and I know I'm not rb best at making people feel better but I could at least try to help, if you'd have me." You stepped forward towards him until you were close enough to draw him into your arms, pulling him as close as you possibly could, plopping your head onto his shoulder. He stiffened for a minute in surprise, but soon relaxed and wrapped his arms around your waist, his head now resting on the top of your head.

"You just being here is enough Deuce. I just want someone to hold for a little while if that's okay." You said, your speech muffled into his jacket. You felt his toned arms tighten around you further and felt him let out an affectionate huff.

"Don't worry, I'll be here as long as you need, I promise."

There was a note on your locker.

And it wasn't even close to being hidden. It was dead smack in the middle of the door for the world to see. Clearly this person had the confidence of the seven themselves or they really didn't have anything to hide within the contents of said letter.

That being said, upon closer inspection, there was no name on it to indicate who sent it. There was nothing on the front of the envelope besides your name, which was elegantly scrawled across the middle of the blank space in dark purple ink. Despite the bold action of smacking it dead on the outside of the locker, there was still the fact that whoever it was didn't want you to know who sent it to you, at least not yet. Maybe it was a kind of scavenger hunt? Or maybe they weren't ready to tell you just yet, summoning courage behind closed doors and fake facades until they had enough saved up for a burst of adrenalized determination.

You peeled the letter off the locker, carefully sliding it into your bag to read later. The letter practically burned a hole in your thoughts as you walked to your next class. You wanted to discover the contents of the letter as soon as possible, but Crewel would have your hide if you were late to another one of his classes. The investigation would have to wait.

-----------

You practically ran back to Ramshackle when classes were over, ignoring Ace’s question of whether he could possibly cheat off study with you in favor of starting your investigation sooner. Hurridly taking your shoes off at the door you slid into the dorm, making a beeline for your room and brushing past the disgruntled cat roommate. Once you reached said room you closed the door with your foot and threw your bag onto the bed, opening it to fish out the letter. If you were going to start your investigation, reading the contents would be the best start.

Breaking the seal on the envelope, the slip of paper was carefully pulled out and flipped open with a snap. It read:

Dear Prefect,

I will make it clear up front that this letter is not to be shown to anyone else. While I'm sure your curious as to who the sender of this letter is and want all the help you can get, I believe you will find the end result much more satisfying if solved by yourself. Think of it as a scavenger hunt of sorts. Please fight off the temptation to do so the best you can.

At the end of every two days a new letter will appear in your locker, each with a different clue or clues that should allow you to deduct who I am. The end result, should you solve the puzzle, will be one that I believe you will enjoy. I eagerly await your efforts.

-Anonymous

Well, that didn't help much, save for the fact the letter sounded suspiciously formal. Either this was truly how the sender wrote letters, or it was one heck of a ploy to throw you off. Regardless the letter was well crafted, the sender being clever enough to leave enough clues to get a start.

Hints:

-Elegant handwriting

-purple ink

-formal tone

Now came the harder part: narrowing down the suspects. There wasn't much to go off of, but perhaps waiting for the next letter would provide better points in the right direction.

-----------

Why you don't climb flagpoles

------------------------------------------------

Word count: 1158

Warnings: None

Genre: Crack

Fandom: Twisted Wonderland

Character: Ace Trappola

Headcannon: If there was a flagpole on campus, he has definitely climbed it to prove a point or because of a dare, or both. They had to get Trey to get him down because he got stuck halfway up the pole and swore that he didn’t need help. They finally went to get the third year because Ace got hella tangled in the cord and finally admitted defeat.

A/N: I struggled with the ending, but I think it came out okay :>

--------------------------

“Ace get down you can’t do it.”

“YOUR JUST JEALOUSSSS!”

“DON’T MAKE ME CALL TREY!”

That exact sentence was what made you stop in your tracks. Normally when you heard the sounds of certain first years causing questionable trouble you would check to make sure they weren’t going to die before moving on with your day. However, the threat of calling an upperclassman told you this wasn’t a scheme to steal Riddles tarts under his nose and inevitably get caught. In short, nothing that would be easy to explain or easy to resolve.

With a sigh, you turned your steps towards the back-and-forth bickering that came from the general direction of the sports field, Grim following close on your heels and complaining about the detour that definitely didn’t lead to him getting his tuna faster. Thank the seven school was done for the day, as the chances of you coming to the rescue of your friends lessened whenever the time limits of classes loomed over your heads. But you also had to wonder if there was even a day that could go by before one of two potential troublemakers landed themselves in questionable positions.

You weren’t exactly sure what you were expecting when the duo came into view, maybe Ace had climbed a tree too high and got stuck, but it definitely wasn’t the sight of said redhead doing an ungraceful shimmy up the school’s flagpole. To your further astonishment, Deuce was standing at the bottom of the pole, his active attempts to follow his friend being stopped by Cater who was also filming the whole thing.

“What in the seven are you doing?” You shouted, catching the attention of the present Heartslabyul students as you approached. Deuce turned his head to face you, stopping his scrabbling attempts to attach himself to the pole.

“Ace is going to get himself killed.” He said, pointing upwards towards the ever-higher climbing first year.

“Deuce bet me twenty thaumarks that I couldn’t climb to the top of the flagpole!” Ace retorted from his perch, sticking his tongue out at his friend before continuing his ascent. Cue the sweatdrop on Deuce when he saw the look of what-the-hell on your face.

“In my defense, I didn’t think he’d actually do it.”

“When has Ace not taken dares seriously,” Grim said, crossing his paws and glaring at the first year. You had to hold back on stating that the cat monster was no better than he was, putting a hand over your face to stop him from cluing in on your eye roll.

“Cater let me go he’s gonna get himself hurt if someone doesn’t go after him!” Deuce struggled against the hold Cater had on the collar of his uniform to no avail.

“Sorry Deuce! We can’t have two underclassmen risking broken limbs at the same time.” Cater said, throwing a smile toward his classmate. “Riddle would have my head if I didn’t stop at least one of you.”

“So why are there no attempts being made to stop Ace from getting any higher than he is?” You questioned, watching as he slipped a foot down the pole before regaining his grip.

“I mean, it would be kinda pointless not to let him at least try to get to the top at this point tbh. Plus, this is good content for Magicam!” Cue the frustrated prefect glare. “Also the fact that because he’s so high up it would be hard to get him down without accidentally knocking him off.” He added quickly. That statement brought back the remembrance of the attempts to get Grim out of the chandelier the first day school started. In hindsight launching Ace at the chandelier wasn’t the best idea that was ever conceived, but in Deuce’s defense, it did effectively get the cat and the first year down in record time.

“YOU BETTER GET MY MONEY READY JUICE!” Came another shout from above.

“I TOLD YOU NOT TO CALL ME THAT!”

“You know what, I’ll call Trey if you don’t climb back down here!” You shouted up at him.

“Oh? What's that? Is that, an unbeliever I hear?”

“ACEEEEE!” No actually, it was the sound of an angry house warden who just discovered one of his underclassmen was doing something he probably shouldn’t be. Said house warden was now stomping across the sports field in his dorm uniform with a scarily murderous aura about him. “GET OFF THE POLE BEFORE I COLLAR YOU FOR NEXT MONTH!” He screamed, still a ways off but just as terrifying as he was up close. Of course, the sudden appearance of the house warden only egged Ace to get to the top of the pole faster, wrapping one of his legs into the halyard rope (The rope that lowers and raises a flag that I totally didn’t look up) in an attempt to shove himself up the last stretch of the pole. What he failed to account for was that his previous commentary had angered Deuce so much that he managed to wiggle out of the third-year's grip to run over and kick the bottom of the pole as hard as he could.

Yeah, he may have lost his grip on the pole. Ace screeched in fear as he flipped backward, watching the world turn upside down and get startlingly closer only for it suddenly stop and have the back of his head smack the pole, hard. His leg was now thoroughly tangled in the rope from his unplanned and sudden descent and he was now hanging precariously upside down. The frustrating part now was that he didn’t have a good way to get himself off the pole.

“Okay Ace, just stay there we’ll get someone to get you down,” Cater yelled from the ground, shoving his phone in his pocket to free his other hand.

“WHERE AM I SUPPOSED TO GO? DOWN?!” Ace shouted, gesturing wildly with his hands at the ever-so-looming ground. Who knew grass could look so terrifying? In the end, Trey was in fact called to come to calm down Riddle while you, Cater, and Deuce worked together to get the helpless first year off the pole safely. He did end up getting collared for a solid week, Riddle only relenting when it was brought up that Ace still needed his magic for classes. Now it was just a matter of time before Ace tries to climb it again, one day finally fulfilling his duty of getting to the top of the pole at least once in his school years.

Each Others Better Half

Characters: Ace Trappola, Leona Kingscholar, Jade Leech

Genre: Fluff

None of them will ever admit it, but you were truely their better half. What they didn’t realize was that you thought the same of them.

Day 28 of @twistedchatterboxed 's Collab :>

--------------------

Ace Trappola:

-Trouble squared, that was the best way to describe you two. If Riddle thought he had his hands full with trying to keep the A-Deuce duo from causing trouble, he was sadly wrong cause the schemes only got worse when you came along. Suddenly it was routine to check the roof the Heartslabyul dorm because of the sheer amount of times you two could be found perched on it in order to try and hit some poor kid with a water balloon (or a paint balloon if you were particularly mischievous that day.)

-It was a very weird relationship to anyone looking in. You two were constantly bickering during lunch, accidentally exploding potions in the cauldrons because you weren’t paying attention to which bottle held which substance and then blaming it on the other, getting into intense competitions on the sports field with whatever activity was planned for that day, actively throwing paper airplanes at each other during class periods. Anyone could have sworn you two hated each other’s guts.

-What they didn’t see what the nights you spent together forcing helping Ace study for upcoming tests. Days spent toning some of Ace’s plotting down to more harmless pranks so you didn’t end up with another situation like with the chandelier (despite the fact that time was Deuce’s idea Ace would grumble whenever you brought it up). Patching him up whenever he fell off a broom or got into a fight with one of the other students on campus. No matter how many times he whined that he didn’t need your help he wouldn’t move whenever you treated the scratches on his face. The playful teasing that you exchanged between each other, face’s going red from silent flustering when you looked away after a particularly embarrassing comment. Showing off his slight of hand and card tricks to impress you and teaching you some of them if you were interested. Spending time in the Heartslabyul gardens helping him paint the roses by hand because he got collared again (you usually didn’t cause whats a collar gonna do, you don’t have magic to lock away.) Stopping him from kicking the shins of a student that was talking shit about you, only to have you both start fighting the kid once said student insulted the pair of you to your face. It was a lot of little things, little moments that kept your relationship close knit.

-It was an ungodly hour of the morning when the realization hit him like a truck. Early in the day you had dragged your first year companion to his room after clubs were done for the day so you could study for the upcoming exam tomorrow much to his dismay. He protested the whole way but he couldn’t really deter you, or make that weirdly pleased grin on your face go away as you dragged him along. With breaks for dinner (and for Ace’s complaining that the subject matter was too boring and he needed a break) you ran through the study guide while sitting on his bed, quizzing each other on the questions until you were 100% sure you knew them by heart.

-He wasn’t exactly sure when you fell asleep, but after running through the study guide silently for the last time he threw down the packet in excitement, letting out a cheer. He had gotten all the questions correct without even having to look at the book, which meant a clear stage for a high grade on the exam. Turning to brag about it he stopped once he saw you asleep, leaning against the headboard of his bed. The book you’d been studying from sat open and limp in your hands, making him roll his eyes. He closed the book, setting it on the nightstand before putting his study guide on top of it. Easy access in case a run through of the information was desired in the morning.

-Since both of you were in causal clothes there wasn’t a need to change out of them, thank the seven. He jumped up to turn off the light (and snicker at Deuce who was face first in his bed and snoring) but scurried back as fast as he could to flop himself back next to you. He shifted the two of you around until he was snuggled into your side, giggling to himself about the face you would pull when you woke up in the morning.

-Partners in crime, very much so, and thats what he loved about you. You would always go along with his ideas with a smile on your face and no second thoughts, helping him achieve scheme that would have failed otherwise. Yes you might have stopped a few of these plots, but you were someone he could rely on no matter what he pulled, and he wouldn’t trade that for anything.

---------

Leona Kingscholar:

-Good lord you were giving this man a run for his money. You looked like a mouse, constantly skittering around the school finishing tasks and picking up new ones, running to go complete them without so much as a break in between. If he didn’t know better he’d think you didn’t know what a break was. The reality was the fact that you were very much a perfectionist with a self worth problem. If something wasn’t exactly to your liking, you would spend hours on pointless corrections, double checking the assignmenst over and over again to make sure there was no way to improve it. If you didn’t have something to work on in that current moment you felt lazy and like you were wasting your time sitting around, so you would run around picking up any tasks you could to keep yourself busy. Honestly it was exhausting just watching you run around like that.

-Leona normally wouldn’t care if someone would run themselves around doing things for other people in order to keep busy. However since you were his S/O it wasn’t exactly something he could ignore. Especially when you hounded him about missing so many classes by taking naps in the botanical garden. You constantly pressed him to go to his classes so he could move on and eventually graduate from the school, dragging the half asleep lion down the hallways by his arms while he grumbled about the fact that the classes were pointless. His attendance did actually go up significantly once you started doing that and his teachers seemed particularly pleased about it much to his dismay. You were often the one that would get his lunch from the cafeteria and getting it to him in his nap spot in the bushes, giving Ruggie a small break from the tasks he often did. You were also the one that got his classwork from the classes and smacked him in the nose with them. No matter how many disgruntled glares he gave, you had yet to cease the paper attacks.

-Often times when you delivered his stuff to him he would drag you down next to him, grumbling about the fact you never took a damn break and therefore was condemned to be stuck next to him until you did. Cue an intense amount of protesting from you, smacking him against his arms that kept you firmly against him and spouting about how you could absolutely not take a break at this point in time. Each time without fail however you would end up falling asleep within ten minutes, softly snoring away in his arms and taking your much needed rest. Yeah he saw the eyebags, he sure as hell was not going to even try waking you up for the next few hours no matter how much you grumped at him.

-When you did experience burnout he would be right next to you, offering his company and small bouts of comfort for your fried brain. He was also there to keep you from making it worse, cause lord knows if he wasn’t there you would try to keep working on more nonsense.

-Tonight was one of those nights, you weakly trying to pry off his grip on your torso in order to get up before giving up. He felt you finally relax against him, eyes finally drooping due to the weight of too many nights of bad sleep. A sigh escaped him once you finally fell asleep, propping himself up on his free arm to look down at your face. It was the first time in a while he’d been able to see you without some sort of frustration present on your face, which made it refreshing to see the serene look you currently had. Brushing aside some of the hair on the side of your head he leaned down, pressing a light kiss against your cheek before flopping back to his original position so he could fall asleep himself. Sure your nagging got annoying at times, but you were the one that kept him on his toes, and in return he took the role of being the person to stop you from running yourself ragged. Frustrating, yes at times it was frustrating trying to get you to just rest for a second. It was like talking to a rock. But both of you kept each other balanced, kept each other from falling too far into their habits. It was a delicate balance, but as long as he could keep you next to him, he would try his best to keep up his side of the relationship.

------

Jade Leech:

-No one, and I mean no one could figure out how the two of you got together. Jade was
well Jade. The secretive scary vice housewarden of Octavinelle who you knew had dirt on just about everyone in the school whether anyone knew about it or not. His polite demeor only made him scarier, as it made it harder to tell what he was thinking behind his face of faux cordiality. It was essentially everyone’s mission to stay as far away from him and his brother as possible lest they get caught in a scheme they wanted no part of.

-Insert: Prefect.exe. You were quiet, never usually saying much but your face always broke out in animated expressions with whatever you were feeling at that particular moment. Your face would break out in the most brilliant smiles or pull the saddest looks. While you were fairly friendly to everyone you met, you were fairly easy to fluster. Cue a certain somebody taking notice of odd little you.

-At first it was a lot of discrete spying. Rook might have even been impressed with his ability to silently stay out of sight. But after a week or two of far away observation he started to come up to you, introducing himself and engaging in small conversations with you. He thought it was fascinating how expressive you could be. You could tell almost exactly what you were feeling at any given moment, which depending on who you asked could be considered a good or a bad thing. He couldn’t exactly tell what you were thinking however, because some of the things you would say in your little talks would contradict whatever expression was currently plastered on your face(for example you would have a scowl on your face but you would talk about how nice it was for Cater to compliment you that day). Needless to say his intrest had been peaked furthur, and now people were finding it hard to approach you without the skyscraper of a man tagging along behind.

-As your relationship grew with each other, you started to notice little things that he started to do that he never did for anyone else. Giving you little drinks tailored to your tastes and often with no cost attached to it(which you were sure if Azul ever found out he would grump about losing more potential profits because of it), offering to help you out with the tasks that Crowley would graciously dump on you, having scary eel privileges cause no one wanted to mess with suspiciously nicer eel man. Often times you ended up being a taste tester for some of his dishes, considering Azul and Floyd had basically sworn off every touching his cooking again. If you dislike mushrooms I apologise in advance. You also had the benefit of being able to get away with more physical contact. While he would often pat the top of your head or gentle grip your arm to drag you off somewhere else, you were able to get away with hanging off of his arm or practically tackling him in a back hug. The composed butler-like actions started to feel more and more genuine as time went on, slowly sure but there was definitely changes in his demenor that didn’t go unnoticed. He did take the opportunity to tease you every chance he got, loving to watch your face break out in a bright red blush or pull a scowl at a particularly bad one.

-Soon you were visiting the Monstro Lounge just about every day, passing the time by with small tasks or to just embrace the calming atmosphere of the lounge and the sea life you could watch swimming by the windows. Jade would come over with drink in hand, setting it next to you before inquiring about your day and what you were doing. If you were studying he would assist where he could, if you wanted his help. If you were just there to chill he would engage in conversation with you as much as he could, bopping between his duties and his conversation efficiently. If you stuck around after the lounge closed he would guide you down the hallways to his room so you could continue to discuss, hand resting gently across your lower back. Floyd often jumped into these conversations as they did share the room with each other, and even sometimes his snacks if he was having good vibes that day.

- He discovered quite quickly that you were only really talkative once you got more comfortable with people, curiosity peeking out to ask about certain things that caught your eye. There was many an afternoon where you and Jade would have a very animated conversation about different mushrooms, their characteristics and where they were found. It was one of the few times he would show large amounts of excitement and you were happy to listen to him rant about them for hours. Hikes with him may grow more frequent.

-It was during one of these mushroom rants that he grew to realize just how much of his life you had started to take up. You had wormed your way into his offputting demeanor, making a little home and slowly uncovering more little secrets that few ever found. He fell silent as he watched you excitedly discuss one of the mushrooms you had found along the edge of the forests around the school. It was nice to finally have someone willing to not only listen but to also engage in the conversations about interests that were shared. He felt a small smile tug at his lips, leaning into his hand a bit while he watched you talk. You were the person he didn’t know he needed in his life, a better half to him if you will. You wiggled your way into his life, and he would try his best to keep you in it as long as he could.

A/N: This was originally going to be a lot larger of a piece but I overestimated how much I could do so it ended up being a lot shorter than planned XD Still I hope this was an enjoyable read :>

Thank you for letting me join in on the collab, I had a lot of fun making this!

Messenger Arrows

-------

Word Count: 1.0k

Warnings: none

Genre: Fluff/Crack

Fandom: Twisted Wonderland

Character: Rook Hunt

Headcannon: If someone was dating Rook, they would have to be on edge a lot because he has a habit of firing arrows at them, with either poems or small notes attached. It's a nice gesture, but it's a bit nerve-wracking to have an arrow whiz an inch away from your nose and stick into the wall. Thank the sevens he has good aim.

A/N: I apologize in advance my fancy letter writing isn't the best, but I tried. 😅

-------------

*whizzzzzZZZZZZZZZ THUNK*

Ah yes, the usual afternoon arrow, perfectly on time, stuck in the wall, and of course only flew around two centimeters away from Ace's nose.

"GEEZUS!" He yelped, taking a step away from the arrow and holding a hand in front of his face defensively. "AGAIN!?"

"Ace this happens every single afternoon." You said, rolling your eyes as you went to dislodge the arrow from the wall. Ace did his own rolling of eyes right back, lowering his hand once confirming a second thin, scarily well aimed missile wasn't going to take his nose out permanently.

"I know, but why does he have to nick my nose everytime he does it!" He said exasperated, sending a glare towards the spot where Rook definitely was not residing. "It's as if he's doing it on purpose, WHICH HE PROBABLY IS!" The arrow came out of the wall after a good minute of tugging, impressing you and simultaneously scaring your friend further with the sheer amount of force the arrow must have been fired with. Tiny missile indeed.

As usual a pristine white envelope was tied to the arrow, its secrets sealed by red wax with a feather stamping. The envelope itself had been attached to the arrow with a purple ribbon, now fluttering loosely in the light breeze that blew into the hallway from the open windows. You flipped the envelope in your hands a few times, admiring the elegant cursive writing on the the front of it: For my little trickster.

"Oh my seven it's a letter not a forbidden scroll of curses just open the thing!" Ace grumbled, tapping his foot with the impatience of Leona himself. Cue eye roll part 2.

After perching thyself on the windowsill so the hallway wouldn't be blocked, you set the arrow to your side so you could return it to Rook when you...no when he 'coincidentally' ran into you again. Breaking the wax seal carefully you opened the letter, sliding the thin paper out while simultaneously ignoring the nosy first year trying to read the letter over your shoulder.

"Ace I swear to Tsunotaro I will sacrifice you to Riddle if you don't stop snooping." You hissed, shoving his face away with your free hand.

"It's not snooping, it's intel gathering-" He snapped his mouth shut once he noticed the serious look on your face. That morning he had accidentally turned a rose bush purple while trying to magic them to red. The blame had managed to be shifted to another unfortunate underclassman but you had witnessed the screw up before he could figure out how to 'fix' it. Turns out having blackmail is fairly effective in getting pesky first years to scooch three feet to the left.

With the angry Ace now standing far enough away to not be able to snoop, you turned your gaze down to read the letter in your hands:

My Darling Trickster,

Another sun has risen over the distant horizon, a new day had begun from it's appearance, bathing the land in it's radiant glow. And yet it fails to shine as brightly as you. How could it? Your beauty shines so brightly it puts the stars to shame! Let us enjoy this new day together until the moon slips into the sky and sends us to slumber once again. I will wait patiently for you in the thicket of roses, we shall make this day a good one.

Yours Truly, Rook Hunt

Well, it looks like you had a date that afternoon.

"It's the sappiness for me-"

Ace got slapped with the envelope.

----

Okay, the message arrows were cool as an afternoon thing, not so much a 'wake-up-and-nearly-get-slammed-with-a-close-flying-arrow.' It was especially nerve wracking to see a wooden shaft around an inch away from the tip of your nose, still slightly trembling from its impact into the wooden walls of Ramshackle Dorm. It was as if the arrow had struck any hint of sleepiness you had, killing it in a single hit.Grim had been equally shocked by the sudden attack, having jumped from his perch on the bed and skittering away to protect his tuna stash. The traitor.

Carefully reaching upwards, you pulled the arrow out of the wall easily. Considering how worn down the walls were already it wasn't a shock it came out easier than from the stone walls of the school hallways. Once again the arrow held a white envelope, tied on with a yellow ribbon this time but still the same scenario as last afternoon.

Sitting upright in the bed you detached the letter from the arrow, putting the ribbon in the jar you had on the nightstand. It would be a waste not to save them, they were some high quality ribbons. The arrow meanwhile got unceremoniously shoved off the bed, clattering on the floor while you opened the envelope. The letter was shorter this time, probably out of courtesy since you had only just woken up.

Good morning Monsieur Trickster!

The birds have awoken and started their songs of the day, filling the air with colorful notes and melodies. It would be a shame for you to miss such a wonderful morning. I will await by your humble abode to escort you to the school building in an hour. We shall enjoy the blissful morning together!

Yours Truly, Rook Hunt

You felt your heart flutter a bit, the sweet words of the letter brushing away the initial shookithness of the way the message made its way into the building. You took a glance at the time before slipping out of bed, striding over to the wardrobe in order to start getting ready. While you loved your boyfriend dearly, you may have to have a talk with him about his method of delivering notes.

He could still do the arrows in the afternoon don't get it wrong, but maybe in the mornings he could find a less violent way to get the messages to you. You didn't want him to stop completely though. As startling as they were you had to admit, you had grown fond of his messenger arrows.

When Fae Sleep on the Ceiling

--------------------------------------------------------------

Word Count: 1.1k

Fandom: Twisted Wonderland

Genre: Crack

Warnings: None

Character: Lilia Vanrouge

Headcanon: He has slept upside down in the hallway and scared the shit out of a Diasomnia student, on more than one occasion. It may have been on purpose the second time.

A/N: first in my series of writing headcannons and short stories :>

--------------------------------------------------------------

Silence settled over Diasomnia, the only sounds coming from the crackling of the dim green torches and the clocks ticking away. Moonlight filtered in through the tall windows, casting soft shadows across the floor and grazing the faces of the students in their beds. Yes, 3 am in the dorm was as peaceful as it had always been-

“AAAAAAAAAGH.” Okay, maybe not. The frantic footsteps of a student echoed down the hallway, the student in question turning the corner at an alarming speed which sent them crashing into a corner table. Lilia watched incredolously as the boy picked himself up and continued his panicked sprint down the next hallway. The scream and flee-the-large-bat-thing routine didn’t come as much of a shock to him, this had happened several times before to a variety of jittery first years who were still adjusting to the spookyness of the dorm. It was the fact that they had sent the corner table into the afterlife in their attempt to get away from the sentient black lump hanging from the hallway ceiling that surprised him.

“Father, what are you doing.” Lilia turned his head and came face to face with a weary looking Silver. The cacophony of noises must have woken him up, an impressive feat. He would have to give kudos to that student later.

“Sleeping of course. What else would I be doing.” he chirped innocently. He gave the boy an upside down grin, which in turn received a suspicious look.

“Then why did I hear such a profound screech of terror?”

“Ah yes, that.” Lilia released an arm from his cape to make a wide gesture to the smashed corner table. “Evidently the mention of fae potentially sleeping in the hallway was missed during orientation again. Unfortunately this time an innocent life was taken.” Silver blinked at the pile of wood in surprise.

“Such a shame really. That corner table had so much life left to live.” Lilia raised a hand to his forehead, feigning a pained expression. “Alas, it met an untimely end this fair morning. We must grieve.”

“It is too early in the morning to be grieving for a table father.” Silver grumbled, exhaustion starting to creep up on him once again. “There are few people that would actually grieve a table in the first place-”

“NOOOOOOOO! TABLE-SAMA ARE YOU ALRIGHT!?” Insert jumping five feet in the air out of surprise. If the voice hadn’t already confirmed who was now very loudly mourning the table, the bright green hair sure did.

“WHO DID THIS TO YOU!? TABLE-SAMA ANSWER ME!”

“Sebek it is 3:10 in the morning tone it down!” Silver hissed, glaring down at the underclassman who was currently trying to sooth the pile of very much inanimate wood.

“I know its such a tragedy that the table had to leave us so soon.” Lilia piped up, adding to the hysterics that wracked the first year.

“WE MUST FIND WHO DID THIS TO THEM! THE TABLE WILL BE AVENGED!” Sebek cried. Both his arms shot into the air in anger holding seperate halves of one of the broken table legs. Silver groaned, softly facepalming while Lilia cackled loudly behind him. The commotion over the now pile of shards was so great that it drew the attention of more and more of the sleeping (was sleeping) students.

“Lilia, what is the meaning of all this noise.” Malleus questioned, letting out a yawn while striding closer to the crime scene. Lilia was wheezing so hard with laughter he couldn’t directly answer the horned fae, only pointing a shaking finger towards the hysterical man on the floor before falling back into uncontrollable laughter.

“I’m sorry Malleus I didn’t think this would get so out of hand-” Silver started, but was once again interrupted by a booming screech.

“TABLE-SAMA HAS BEEN KILLEEDDDDD!” Sebek cried, tears rolling down his face while he gestured his shaking hands to the broken table in front of him.

“Oh dear, it seems the vase on the table broke as well.” Malleus noted, crouching down to pick up some of the shattered white porcelain that littered the floor. “What a shame, I quite liked that vase.”

“Can we leave this matter for the morning, please.” Silver said exasperated, “We’re waking up the entirety of the dorm with this nonsense.” He gestured the hand not currently facepalming down the hallway, towards the several doors that had revealed confused and exhausted students staring directly at them.

“Ah yes, many apologies fellow students. Please go back to bed.” Malleus said, turning his head to address the growing crowd. The students turned back into their dorm rooms, grumbling about being woken up at such an ungodly hour of the morning before closing the door behind them. The fae turned back towards the wreckage, raising a hand towards it. Green magic rolled off his fingers like mist, curling around the pieces of the table and melding them together. Malleus watched as the vase put itself back together as well, setting itself down on the now fixed table with a thump.

“There, the matter has been dealt with.” He said, standing and brushing the remaining dust off of his nightclothes. “We shall find the student and have a talk with him about furniture etiquette first thing in the morning. I will be going back to bed now. Sleep well.” He offered a small smile towards the other three before turning to go back towards his room. Lilia was still trying to recover from his laughing fit, giggles still escaping him as he curled into himself.

“*sniff* Table-sama has been fixed! We must celebrate!”

“In the morning Sebek.”

“Yes I know that Silver.” Sebek snapped, wiping any remaining tears from his face. “Who in their right mind would celebrate a table being fixed at such early hours. Right then, see you in the morning.” Sebek shot up from his seated position on the floor, offering a curt nod and walking off like a solider in a marching band. It was as if he hadn’t just spent the better part of five minutes crying on the floor over a dismembered table.

“I will be heading to bed as well.” Silver yawned. “Please refrain from scaring more students tonight. We don’t need more broken furniture.”

“No promises.” Lilia wheezed, “If someone else gets scared I’ll warn them against smashing the table again.” Being too tired to respond, Silver opened the door to his room and walked inside.

“Good night father.” The door shut behind him, leaving the fae to his own devices. The rest of the night was relatively peaceful, the silence only being broken by the occasional giggling of the vice dormleader hanging from the ceiling. He was no doubt plotting who to 'accidentally' scare next, and if he was lucky, maybe he could get the unlucky victim to break something else.

To Catch an Eel... Accidentally

Summery: Ruggie is on one of his many fishing trips for an easy lunch, but this time he gets more than what he bargained for

Word Count: 1.2k (more than I expected)

Fandom: Twisted Wonderland

Genre: Crack fic

Warnings: slight swearing but otherwise none

A/N: this is my first ever fanfic, I do plan to turn this into a writing/request/art blog but I'm still learning how this works. I'll get a master list and a theme and all that fancy stuff up eventually, but I'm very proud of this soni hope you enjoy it <3 (please be patient with me I'm very new to this and are still learning how to write well)

--------------------------------------------------------------

The fish quickly dispersed as the mer-eel swept by them, hiding in the corners of the lake from the unexpected snapping jaws of an unhinged predator also known as Floyd. He lunged forwards towards one of the fish, missing it by a hair and watched as it slowly swam away, seeming to taunt him. He let out a stream of bubbles in frustration watching it go, swearing to take a bite out of the thing once he was able to catch it. He had been swimming around all day, and unlike the fish during the Vargus camp these fish were insanely fast which made it near impossible for him to get ahold of one. He let himself drift a bit in the water arms crossed with a snarl that would scare a snapping turtle away. That was until he saw a bobbing movement out of the corner of his eye. Turning his head he saw another fish, bright pink with orange striping, and to his delight was lot slower than the others.

“Ehehe~ Come hereee little fishy~” He giggled to himself, shooting through the water with his hands extended towards the unsuspecting ball of bright colors. His hands shot straight past the fish, clasping together behind it so it couldn’t escape its inevitable fate of becoming a snack. Floyd snapped at the fish, delight filling his mind as he felt it hit the roof of his mouth. He raised his hands above himself in triumph, his excited wiggling making him miss the light tugging of the clear line that now led into his jaws.

A noise sounding suspiciously like a squeaky toy escaped him as he was very unceremoniously yanked upwards, streams of bubbles following him as he fought back against the incredibly persistent upward pulling of the fishing line. It was his fish! How dare they try to steal his hard work!

-Meanwhile-

Ruggie pulled furiously on the rod, watching it bend and jerk around wildly in his grasp. He couldn’t believe the sheer strength of whatever monster of a fish he had hooked. In the very many times he’d taken to fishing in the lake near the school he had never once hooked something so monsterous. The image of a freshly grilled fish crossed his thoughts as he reeled the line again, giddily watching the ever growing shadow in the water. That was until he realized that he was actively being pulled towards the water, the fish having decided to flip the roles of the fisher and the fished.

“Ah shit!” He shouted, digging his feet into the ground as much as he dared in an attempt to stop himself from getting dragged to a watery grave. What he wouldn’t give in this moment to have greater arm strength, his noodle arms were going to give out any second if this assault on his arms and his ego didn’t let up.

The sounds of feet approaching caught his ears, the person steadily plodding their way around the lake path. Seeing a familiar first year come into view, his hope shot sky high.

“JACK! HELP ME OUT HERE WILL YA’?” He yelled towards the beastman. Jack halted almost immediately, looking over to see his upperclassman about to get absolutely wrecked by one hell of a force of nature.

“Ruggie, what in the world did you catch!?” Jack shouted back, already starting to make a beeline for the struggling hyena.

“I don’t know but whatever it is it’ll be enough food for a whole week!” Once Jack grabbed hold of the rod Ruggie let out an internal sigh of relief. With Jack’s strength, they’d be able to get the fish out in no time!

The fish fight continued for the next ten minutes, neither side seeming to be able to keep their advantage over the other. As soon as it looked as though the Savannaclaw students were going to get dragged in they would pull harder, and once the fish got close to the murky surface it would pull back furiously, putting the pair back to where they started. In all honesty, Ruggie had just about had it with this things antics. Another minute flew by and once again the mystery fish had been yanked near the surface, bubbles absolutely surrounding the thing as it thrashed around in the water.

“Alright Jack! On three we pull as hard as we can. We should be able to get the fish out with one more good tug!” Ruggie said, watching the fish intently. Jack was really starting to feel the ache in his arms, but he nodded.

“Whenever you’re ready then!” He said, bracing himself against the ground to keep himself from getting dragged back to the starting line.

“One
”

“Two
”

A flash of teal broke the surface, the blur of a tail shooting up before getting ready to dive back into the lake.

“THREE!” The two of them threw their weight’s backwards, their combined efforts jerking the fish up out of the water and onto the grass in front of them.

“HELL YEAH! WE GOT A-” Ruggie cut himself off, looking down in shock at the sight in front of him. What was staring back at them was, in fact, not a fish, but a very, very angry looking Octavinelle student with a hook in his mouth. Neither party said anything for a minute, staring at each other with very mixed emotions.

“Floyd
what were you doing in the lake.” Jack said breaking the silence.

“I was getting a snack, what else would I be doing!” Floyd snarled, reaching up to de-hook himself from the line. “What the hell were you doing!?”

“Why does it matter what I was doing why did you try to eat the lure!?” Ruggie yelled incrediously.

“Well how was I supposed to know thats what a lure is!?”

“It’s so obvious that it was a lure! No fish in this lake is BRIGHT FUCKING PINK!”

This argument continued for a good three minutes, emotions amping up by the second while Jack watched the interaction from the sideline. That wonderance was ended quickly however by snarling on Floyd’s end, deciding that he had had enough with the argument and was now resorting to violence to end it.

If anyone’s seen one of those videos where a worm is touched and the worm starts wiggling around violently, that was the equivalent to what Floyd was doing. His mer form didn’t exactly have the legs required for Floyd’s charge of attack, so the next best thing? Wiggle aggressively to bring across the message of the violence that will soon befall the pair when he does get his legs back.

Ruggie grabbed his rod once Floyd started his maniacal wiggles and shot backwards, not wanting to get anywhere close to the noodle of death.

“JACK WE GOTTA GO!” He screamed, shooting into the woods towards the college building as fast as possible. Jack only started running once Floyd’s tail slammed a tad to close for comfort, taking off after the second-year as if his life depended on it (it did).

Floyd continued his crazed wiggling until Jade found him a few hours later, the wiggling having tired him out to the point where his twin had to carry him back to Octavinelle.

Needless to say for the next two weeks Ruggie and Jack had to be hyperaware of Floyd as anytime he saw either of them he would start charging at them with a full intent to drag them to the bottom of the sea. He eventually got bored of this after a while, but it was fairly amusing for Leona to watch his underclassmen pelt away once they even saw a hint of teal hair. He got some hecking good naps those two weeks.
