I'm so happy I participated in Tamlin Week 2025! Though it was a *tad* rushed, this was the first event I've participated in by submitting something, and I'm so happy that I did :) This entire shabang was so fun, and I absolutely cannot wait until next year (though I know every week can be Tamlin Week in my head ;))
This was such a hit last year, and we had a seriously amazing Tamlin Week, so here are the Tamlin Week 2025 Statistics by mod Reyna!
First of all, this blog broke 500 followers during Tamlin Week! We officially have over 500 Tamlin stans! Our instagram account, @the.calanmai, broke 100 subscribers. Thank you all for the support, Tamlin Week literally could not exist without you!
In all, there were 269 submissions for Tamlin Week from a total of 78 participants. This was a 46.2% increase and a 62.5% increase, respectively, from 2024. Let's start breaking down some of those submissions!
Breakdown of 2025
2024 vs. 2025 Statistics
Shoutouts
Conclusion
Submissions Per Day
Day 7 had the most submissions, with 19% of the total (51 submissions), followed very closely by Day 2, with 50 submissions. Day 6 had the fewest submissions, with 9% of the total (24 submissions). The average number of submissions each day was 38 submissions.
Number of Submissions per Prompt
This year, we endeavoured to make the prompts for each day a little easier to use together, and people really took advantage of that! There is a huge spread across the board, with people utilizing the prompts on their own, as well as combining the day's prompts. Aside from the Free Day, the prompt with the most submissions was Dark Spring (29 submissions). The combination with the most submissions was Forgiveness/Change (24 submissions). The prompt on it's own with the fewest submissions was Chest (5 submissions), although most people seemed to enjoy combining it with the other prompt for the day, Biting.
Types of Fanworks Created
A majority of the submissions were fanfiction, which made up 43% of the total (115 submissions). The second most popular submission was fanart, with 36% of the total (98 submissions). Our miscellaneous category is 10% of the total (26 submissions), which is really cool! Quite a few people thought outside the box to make amazing submissions for Tamlin Week! This category includes playlists, videos, memes, and others! "Combinations" refers to submissions that combined a few of these types into a single submission.
Tamlin Ships Represented
Something that I have always appreciated about Tamlin fandom is how much content revolves around him as a character, and that is absolutely reflected in the breakdown of Tamlin ships that people made creations for. General Tamlin works absolutely dominated, making up 55% of the works submitted (149 submissions). Tamlin/Lucien and Tamlin/Rhysand are the most popular Tamlin ships submitted, with 11% (30 submissions) and 10% (28 submissions) of the total, respectively. There was a pretty even split among the other ships, and any ship with fewer than 1% of the submissions was combined in the "Other Ships" section. The diversity of Tamlin ships is really amazing, and pretty unique in Tamlin fandom!
I thought it would be interesting to compare Tamlin Week 2024 to 2025, and boy was I correct! Because there were so many more submissions this year that last year, to properly compare each category I calculated the percentage of the total for the year that each category represents, rather than using the total number of submissions in each category.
Number of Submissions per Day: 2024 vs. 2025
There isn't a whole lot to be gleaned here, since the prompts between years were different, so interest in submitting on each day is going to be different. There's still some fun stuff! There was a noticeable difference in the number of submissions on Day 2 between 2024 and 2025, with an 18% increase in submissions. In 2024 the Day 2 prompts were Poet/Warrior, and in 2025 they were Dark Spring/Spring Celebrations & Mythology. Dark Spring was a HUGELY popular prompt, which probably explains the increase.
Day 6, on the other hand, saw a 29% decrease in submissions between 2024 and 2025. In 2024 the Day 6 prompts were Dreams/Fairy Tale AU, and in 2025 they were Spy/Warband.
Tamlin Ships Submitted: 2024 vs. 2025
Now we're cooking! It's very interesting to see the changes in which Tamlin ships have become more or less popular in the past year. To better understand this graph, I've calculated the percent change in the number of submissions for each ship, depicted below. The ships that have a percent change above the 0 axis are ones that had an increase in the number of submissions about them, and the ones below the 0 axis had a decrease in the number of submissions about them. The further they are from the 0 axis, the more dramatic the change between the years.
I think the most exciting thing here is the dramatic increase in popularity of Tamlin/Eris, with a 160% increase since 2024! The difference was between 11 submissions this year and 3 submissions in 2024, but still a dramatic increase! Lucien isn't the only Vanserra that Tamlin got his claws into this year! The increase in both General Tamlin and Polycules makes sense, considering that one of our prompts was Platonics & Polycules this year. We love to see it though! Our boy deserves all the love he can get!
The decrease in most of the other ships from 2024 to 2025 really is interesting. The decrease in the "Other Ships" category also seems to indicate that there weren't as many wild Tamlin crackships this year as there were last year. What I read from this information is that more people were interested in creating non-shippy content for Tamlin this year than ever before, which again is super amazing! That's not something a lot of character weeks can say, especially in this fandom.
What's REALLY interesting is that the number of submissions for the three most popular Tamlin ships with a woman (Tamlin/Feyre, Tamlin/Briar, and Tamlin/Rhysand's Sister) had very dramatic decreases from 2024 to 2025, ranging from a 60% decrease for Tamlin/Rhysand's sister, to a whooping 87% decrease for Tamlin/Feyre. More on that later!
Types of Fanworks Submitted: 2024 vs. 2025
Once again, I've found that the most informative way to view the change in the types of fanworks submitted each year is through looking at the percent change. There was a 61% increase in fanart created this year, which is just astounding! Visual art is freaking HARD, and there was an incredible amount of it created for Tamlin Week this year! There was also a 61% decrease in poetry submitted for Tamlin Week in 2025, which is kind of a bummer. We still made up for it with plenty of other submissions!
Number of M/M vs. M/F Ships: 2024 vs. 2025
This is a new, possibly contentious analysis I did this year. I separated out ONLY the submissions that had Tamlin shipped with one other person, and counted what percentage of the total of those were male/male (M/M) ships, vs how many were male/female (M/F) ships. Essentially, are people shipping Tamlin more with men or women?
In 2024, there were roughly an equal number of M/M and M/F ships in the submissions. In 2025, we suddenly get more than twice the number of M/M ships as M/F ships, with a 35% increase in M/M ships and a 37% decrease in M/F ships. This fits with the data we saw above, where all the popular M/F ships in this fandom had a dramatic decrease in the number of submissions. This really is an amazing thing to see in a fandom so focused on heterosexuality and straight ships!
Every single person that participated in Tamlin Week is a hero to me. Most (if not all) of us have been harassed and called horrible names for liking Tamlin. Despite that, so many of you came together for this event, both by submitted creations, and by supporting each other. You are all the best!
That being said, we had some users go above and beyond for Tamlin Week! 19 tumblr users submitted works during both 2024 and 2025 Tamlin Weeks! Thank you guys so much for sticking around, and continuing to love Tamlin!
For the people who created 7 submissions (1 for each day), we have @copypastus, @mika-no-sekai-blog, @taymartiart, and @umthisistheonlyusernamenottaken.
With 8 submissions, we have @lzrsaugust, @spore-loser, and @thornsinwinter.
With 9 submissions, we have @claws-and-all and @songofthesibyl. With 10 submissions we have @matrixsss and @booksnwriting.
And the number one submitter for Tamlin Week 2025 was once again Zee, @sonics-atelier! We love you Zee, you're amazing!!
My conclusion is that we love you, Tamlin fandom is the best, and Tamlin Week is the best ACOTAR week! Mwah Mwah, you're the best!

the distribution here is really quite strange, and i desperately want to know why it’s behaving like that
Please reblog to make sure everyone is equipped!
Who likes statistics?!? I LIKE STATISTICS!! So here’s my Nintendo 2024 year in review. YAY!
So to break some of these down, I had the most playtime in May, around when I was finishing Another Crab’s Treasure and starting Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. My top 3 most played games are Bleach: Brave Souls, Mario & Luigi: Brothership, and The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. Also, I should note that I got to pick the favorite game catagory, and since a remake of my favorite video game of all time came out this year, I mean, I had to give it Paper Mario. 😊 Overall, it’s been a good year for games. I’m excited for next year.
So I was in stats and there was a word problem where the teacher was the boss and liked to get wages out of a random number generator (bad idea) and some of the possible wages were obvious poverty wages ($1, $5 per hour) which we joked about. Over half the wages (taking up almost all the staff) were illegal. Next class was about giving them a raise. We could choose two options: up every wage by $10 per hour (removing the starvation wages) or double every wage (keeping $2 an hour a possibility). Apparently "you should pick the first option if you are in the lower half and pick the second one if you are in the upper half." wtf I don't want blood on my hands??? She said I was being "really nice" which is cool but it's not much to not want families to starve/go homeless???
A friend of mine said he thought only Muslims have more than 1 wife, but I remembered other groups who did, as well as the fact that 99% of Muslims I've met only had 1 wife (though 41% or more of Muslims are recorded as being polygamists), so here is the list of groups of people whose lifestyle is polygamy; having more than one wife at the same time:
⦁ Buddhists (even in nations such as Nepal and Bhutan, confirmed by my friends who live there and grew up there)
⦁ Celts (and many of their deities)
⦁ Christians (Mormons and various others of this religion's more than 45,000 denominations)
⦁ Hindus (during the Vedic times and others)
⦁ Jews (such as King Solomon (who had more than 900 wives and more than 300 concubines) and others)
⦁ Mongols, such as Genghis Khan and most of his male relatives for several generations before and after his reign (Genghis Khan, in fact, had so many that today there are 37 MILLION people related to him, 16 million are direct descendants of him, and that means 1 out of every 200 people on Earth comes from his life of polygamy --maybe that's why they say all Asians look alike! LOL)
⦁ Muslims (mostly Sultans and other well-to-do families)
⦁ Native Americans (many tribes, in fact --and that is for ALL the Americas; North, Central/Latin, and South)
⦁ Norse, such as Viking warlords (and many of their deities)
⦁ Royalty (many patriarchs well known throughout history in dozens of nations around the world have had many wives at the same time)
⦁ Atheists (Charlie Sheen comes to mind; two wives at the same time)
⦁ Scientologists (yes, some of their beliefs are rather amusing, but that is beside the point here)
⦁ Deities (many ancient gods, in general; not just of the Celts or Norse, are said to've had lots of wives)
⦁ and more than 200 million of the people in my country alone have, according to surveys and statistics from others sources, considered some degree of this lifestyle, usually starting by experimenting with affairs for a variety of reasons --including the fact that their spouses and other partners were turned ON by such 'cheating'; it actually strengthened their relationships, contrary to popular belief (or hater-agendas, propaganda, and media-flooding)
⦁ there are more than 50,000 known polygamists in the USA alone, and that number has been doubling every few years (even though, technically, excepting in Utah, polygamy is frowned upon by some U.S. laws)
⦁ and then there is the fact that nearly 50 million people use affairs-based online communities such as Ashley Madison, many of those flings resulting in secret second (and third) marriages
⦁ and polygamy is not only legal, but protected by law in more than half the 196 countries on this Earth
⦁ and I was even married to a woman who was a polygamist; she had another husband living in another country at the same time she was married to me
⦁ in total, about 1/8 of the human population practices polygamy (nearly 1 billion people), and between 1/3 and 1/2 of the human population lives in nations which either protect or at least allow polygamy (2.5 to 3.7 billion people live near polygamists, are accustomed to polygamy in their daily lives, and/or ARE the polygamists)
And if polygamy wasn't demonized by insecure individuals and groups, you'd better believe that the percentage of humans practicing polygamy would skyrocket from its current 13% to something more like 90%.
So when you see on my website that I, too, am a polygamist, now you know that it is actually quite common, perfectly normal, and as natural, healthy, and timeless as any relationships get. Yes, I will have many more wives in the future. Yes, I have the capacity to love them all. Yes, they will be in love with me and each other; we will all love one another fully and equally. Yes, it is okay. Yes, it is fun. Yes, I highly recommend it.
Polygamy isn't for everyone, but it IS for a LOT of people just about EVERYWHERE (~90 nations so far, and counting). Give it a try. You might be glad you did.
Women who had ADHD (24%) [were more likely to have attempted suicide] compared to women who had not (3%).
Men with ADHD were also more likely to have attempted suicide compared to men without ADHD (9% vs. 2%).
Adults with ADHD were much more likely to have attempted suicide than those without (14.0% vs. 2.7%).

It’s that time again. Census time! Once every ten years the federal government counts every single person living in the U.S. of A. in order to effectively allocate representation and resources across the country. It’s an ambitious endeavor, for sure, but one designed to benefit everyone by making sure each community can adequately fund crucial public goods and services, like roads, hospitals, and schools. It determines how many seats each state gets in the U.S. House of Representatives. Also, congressional and state legislative boundaries are drawn and redrawn based on the data collected. Political representation at the state and federal level hinges on census participation. That’s a big deal!
The census count kicked off in March, with its biggest push for people to respond on their own in April, a.k.a. tax month. Although people in the U.S. pay federal income taxes every year, only once every decade do we have the power to influence how those dollars come back to us
The census is a nine-part questionnaire that takes just 10 minutes to complete. To combat all the misinformation flying around about what the census is and how the collected data is used, we’re gonna bust some of the myths and answer a few of the frequently asked questions:
No. The courts have permanently blocked asking respondent their citizenship status and the courts have permanently blocked the Trump administration from adding one. Furthermore, federal law prohibits the Census Bureau from sharing individual census information with any person, organization or government body, including law enforcement. Your responses can only be used for statistical purposes (individual records are released only after 72 years!).
The questionnaire asks for basic demographic information such as age, race, type of housing, etc. It will not ask for compromising or sensitive information like social security numbers, bank account numbers, or immigration status.
Every person living in the United States, regardless of citizenship status, including kids and babies!
Great news! Completing the census questionnaire is literally the easiest it’s ever been. For the first time ever, you can complete the census online at 2020Census.gov or by phone at 844-330-2020. Also, by April 1st, every home will receive a mailed notice to participate in the 2020 Census.
Ideally, Uncle Sam would like to receive your data by April 30th. But as of right now, you can respond on your own all the way until mid-August. If you don’t respond on your own by the end of May, a Census worker may come to your home and ask to record your answers in person. And while it was funny on screen, please do not behave like Christopher Walken in this classic SNL Census sketch.
Yes. The census is safe, your information is handled with the utmost confidentiality meaning that no one can take your data and use it against you. Your individual data will not be shared with any person, organization or government body, including other federal agencies or any law enforcement or housing authorities. It’s to your benefit to participate.
Sure, filling out a form sounds boring, but it helps to think of it as an opportunity to make your voices heard in a way that really matters. That sounds exciting, no? Plus, you only have to spend 10 minutes doing it once every 10 years.
Make sure to pass this information to your friends and family in order to stop the spread of misinformation. If you have any questions, please check out the United States Census Bureau Fact Sheet.
Please visit 2020census.gov for more information.
what an anlysis. but this ep does not exist.
Ok so as of 21:15 UTC, 21st November, there have been
Of these,
I mean, I guess those numbers are bad enough on their own but believe it or not they're actually an improvement on this afternoon's picture, where the divide was closer to 70-20.
Now obviously, the reception looks bad, doesnt it? Yes? Yes?
Yes.
But what's worth noting is that even dealing strictly with these 2 extremes, & handing the advantage over completely to the positive side (I.e. the 10/10 ratings), you end up with something like this-
But the average rating is 6.6/10. I would've taken the distribution of the ratings directly but I dont see any means to access it on imdb (maybe I'm just dumb).
Which leaves us to infer indirectly from the data above, that the people rating the episode positively, aren't reviewing as much as the people rating it negatively.
From over 7,000 ratings, let's try and estimate the general distribution of responses & see how it compares to that of the subset which reviewed.
Again, dealing strictly with extremes, we can reduce the problems to two variables for which we have 2 linear equations available
Let x be the percentage of 10/10 ratings, & y that of 1/10 ratings, then
I would've gone for a linear programming solution but there simply are not enough constraints without removing the other 8 variables from the equation.
62% said 10/10.
An almost completely inverted image of the reviewer response.
Its
Interesting.
There's really nothing this proves. True to the spirit of statistics, this was mostly pointless. All that can be substantially concluded is that at the very least, the people who were disappointed by the finale felt far more strongly about it than the people who weren't. The people who cared more were the ones left heartbroken. Whatever that's worth.

Teaching yourself about latent variable modeling using R is so much exhausting but exciting at the same time, especially when you're neither a programmer nor a statistician.

An analysis of Pokémon GO created with R. OMG They’re so beautiful!!
“I see nice things here:
The cluster are determined by the type of pokemon.
The algorithm keep the chain evolution side by side. You can see charmander, charmeleon, charizard together.
Put steelix, onix and wailord (the most heavy pokémons) together.”
I need help from Pokémon GO players!! I'm doing a study on the game and will be very grateful if you can take a brief moment to answer this survey. Do feel free to forward it to other PG players.
Thanks a ton in advance!
What's your best example of correlation not equaling causation?
When buried six feet down, without a coffin, in ordinary soil, an unembalmed adult normally takes eight to twelve years to decompose to a skeleton. However if placed in a coffin the body can take many years longer, depending on type of wood used. For example a solid oak coffin will hughly slow down the process.
Assuming everyone is buried without a coffin and in normal soil, there would be 31517016 zombies purely risen from the dead. You would be wondering why 31517016 zombies, the math is, 2626418 is the average number of people dieing per annum and 12 is the number for years (maximum) for a body to decompose, 2626418 × 12 = 31517016 All the dead people buried before 12 years ago, would have already decompose and will not be considered undead. So with 7 Billion living humans (with modern technology) verses 31517016 undead classic zombies, who as slow, witless and only react to sound, We can survive a zombie apocalypse with ease.
BUT
If the undead is considered to be all the dead people till now, that would be 107 billion zombie against 7 billion zombie. Making that around 15 zombies for every 1 living human. The chances of surviving is slim.
I have this disgusting habit of making weekly to do lists that stress me out and have entirely too much on them and then remaking that list about 2848573 different times. I also do it right before I go to bed to stress myself out. It's hard to stay organized this semester because all my classes are online + post at different times + have different length modules + I have to do things like read a textbook, but obviously there aren't due dates for that specifically.

Today was productive for being MLK Day.
○ wrote an initial discussion board post (4 solid paragraphs because the questions I had to thoroughly answer required that and my peers also thought so)
○ made 2 replies to that discussion board
○ walked one of my dogs
○ picked up a little coffee treat while socially distancing
○ completed a pre-quiz (I'm not worried so much how I did but more so how it'll be graded and whether I followed her strange uploading and answering directions)
○ cleaned up a laptop a little bit (I'm trying to rehab a dinosaur laptop so I don't have to be as limited by my chromebook)
○ read part of a book of Martin Luther King Junior's essays/speeches I have
First day of me actually doing school work. I'm really excited but also really nervous for this semester! I'm taking Reading in the Content Areas, Teaching in the Online Environment (how fitting... 😓), Environmental Statistics, and Design and Analysis of Experiment. All my classes are online and 3 are asynchronous. I'm really excited for the two education classes. I'd be lying if I felt confident about the stats classes. I'm not horrible with statistics but there are some red flags about how those courses are set up and I have a really hard time following one of the professors. I know it'll work out, but I'm still worried.

[Exams 1/4 done]
I had an exam yesterday- I think it went okay, after though I got some food, went to lidl, then slept all day. So it wasn't the most productive. I clearly needed the sleep, so I'm trying to not be too harsh on myself, but I'm still tired now.
Today I just need to study all day. I went to get breakfast and accidently ran into the cleaner, she was panicking about an inspection she has, so I helped her with a bit of the cleaning.
Revising stats is stressful- I feel like I know NOTHING. I got 48 on my last test- my lowest on any university exam so far. I know that panicking won't help me but I still don't feel good. I have today and tomorrow to learn everything (as well as revising for my other exams)- I'm not confident.
I spent the rest of the day napping and then watching Crash Course Statistics. I am nervous for these tests- I am praying for the 50% I need to get onto my study abroad course.
(I didn't take any pictures today)

The weather is nice again! I'm glad the rain definitely dampened my mood.
I spent almost the entire day in the library- found 'You will beat this essay' written on the cublicle wall, it gave me the motivation I needed to get a big chunk of my Lab reoprt done.
Today I;
Did the introduction of my lab report
